The 26th of March 2017 will be etched in my memory for years to come as I was back to where it at all started 17-years ago - Cultural Centre of Russia! Going down the memory lane, this place at Peddar Road was one of the chess hubs of Mumbai (after Zandu) and I had spent my formative years there by playing chess tournament and trying to decipher the huge treasure of Russian chess books!
My association was bonded further when we were allowed to impart chess training to the budding youngsters at the Botvinnik Chess Club of CCR. This went on uninterrupted for almost 2-years in the evening time and on weekends. However, I was required to discontinue the same in the year 2000 as my office duty took precedence.
And, now after 17 years (light years!) I am back to this magical place. We made a decent comeback with a small tournament and GM Aagard's camp. We now move forward with full-fledged training activities by commencing a beginner's batch.
